The Media Convergence Center of Lanshan District, Rizhao City is one of the first batch of national pilot units for the construction of county-level media convergence centers established by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee in 2018. It is a public welfare institution at the 正科级 (sub-county level) and of Category I, with a staffing quota of 30 (currently 39 employees), and is under the trusteeship of the Publicity Department of the District Committee. It was officially inaugurated on November 9, 2019, and has six departments under it, namely the Comprehensive Support Department, the Editing, Recording, Broadcasting and Publishing Department, the Technical Operation and Maintenance Department, the News Service Department, the Reporting Department for Higher-level Authorities, and the Video Production Department. Since its establishment, the center has successively been awarded more than 20 provincial-level honors, such as "Innovative Case of Upholding Integrity and Innovation in Publicity, Ideological and Cultural Work in Shandong Province (the only county-level media convergence center in Shandong Province)", "Pilot Unit of Media Convergence in Shandong Province", and "Outstanding Documentary Production Unit", thus paving a new reform path for the construction of media convergence centers with a small scale.
