Brief introduction:

Over the course of a year-long filming period, *Unknown Lives* documents the stories of six ordinary individuals. They harbor dreams, big and small—yet only by striving for these dreams can they inch closer to what many would consider a "normal" life. For some, the greatest wish is simply to fight with everything they have just to attain that ordinary existence. 

Some dreams shatter; others come true. Among them: a man steps into Shanghai’s darkness, searching for light; a graduate remains unemployed three years after leaving school; another must abandon his fantastical belief in a "heaven-sent miraculous stone"; an athlete faces the end of a 20-year career without ever winning a championship; a five-year football dream crumbles at the foot of a mountain; and yet another struggles just to catch a fleeting moment of respite on the factory assembly line.  

By the end, they remain unknown—yet the world through their eyes is no longer the same as it was a year before. The world is not a foregone conclusion; the crisscrossing paths they tread are part of each person’s journey to recalibrate their own coordinates. And it is precisely through navigating these winding roads—both broad and narrow—that each individual’s world expands.  

Presented as an observational documentary series, *Unknown Lives* weaves together six standalone yet complete narratives, each affirming the *irreplaceable* and *unique* significance of every ordinary life.
